SLEEPER AGENT NEW ALBUM CELABRASION OUT TODAY ON MOM+POP MUSIC

BAND CURRENTLY ON THE ROAD IN SUPPORT OF DEBUT RELEASE

September 27, 2011 – Los Angeles, CA – Celabrasion, the new debut album from Rolling Stone “Band To Watch” Sleeper Agent is released today, September 27th on mom+pop music. Hailing from Bowling Green, KY, Sleeper Agent specializes in crafting hook-laden scuzzy garage-pop rooted in both soul and southern rock. To celebrate the new release, the band will headline Los Angeles’ Bootleg Theatre tonight for their record release show.

Early champions of the album, SPIN, described the album as, “A dozen deliriously catchy gems… the sound of high fives and Makers Mark spilling from the speakers.” Celabrasion was produced by Jay Joyce (Cage The Elephant, The Whigs) and reflects the easy camaraderie in the band. Citing the musical influence of The Strokes, The Pixies, T-Rex, and Jay Reatard, the band describes their music as akin to “The Ronettes on speed.” “We just want people to listen to the music and have fun,” says guitarist and vocalist Tony “Tutone” Smith.

Sleeper Agent is currently tied for #2 Most Added on the Mediabase Alternative Rock Chart with Foster The People and Death Cab For Cutie, one spot behind Coldplay.

Sleeper Agent is Tony “Tutone” Smith (guitar/vocals), Alex “Kidd” Kandel (vocals), Justin “Keyser” Wilson (drums), Lee “Grizzlee” Williams (bass) Scott “Saga” Gardner (keyboard) and Josh “Junior” Martin (guitars).

Early Praise For Celabrasion…

“A dozen deliriously catchy gems… it’s the sound of high fives and Makers Mark spilling from the speakers.”

SPIN

“In their retro paradise, Strokes guitars and Pixies power surges bump up against overheated Sixties-rock riffs, lusty Seventies bubblegum bluster and girl-group cuteness…”

Rolling Stone – 3.5 Stars, Featured in “Buy These Now”

“These co-ed garage-rock saviors-in-waiting offer two minutes that sound like the most original – and forceful – introduction to a new band we’re likely to hear all year.”

Esquire

“The Bowling Green, KY sextet’s coming-of-age track packs in energy, angst and ferocious instrumentation in slightly more than two minutes.”

Billboard on “Get It Daddy”

“Sleeper Agent’s album should come an “automatic favorite band warning” sticker…they are a band you stumble upon in some Southern bar at three in the morning and wonder why they’re not famousyet; a group of kids barely old enough to drink, yet steeped in the glam and gutter of their musical forebears. It’s not polished or glossy, but good guitar rock rarely is.”

MTV Buzzworthy

“Sleeper Agent are about to sneak up on rock ‘n’ roll and take it over… [Celabrasion] is a dreamy, deep collection of tunes that are as hypnotic as they are hook-y. Harmonies…careen with a sunny stomp that exudes indie grit and attitude at just the right moments. They’ve got boundlessness a la The Pixies with a modern panache that makes for one of the best debuts of 2011. It’s unforgettable alternative…”
